HSC board probes ‘twin’
exam papers
Mumbai: The Maharashtra State Board of Education was in
for a shock when it discovered that the HSC exam paper
for secretarial practice on March 4 was identical to the
prelim paper on the same subject issued by P Dalmia College
at Malad two months ago. “The papers were not similar,
but identical,’’ said V S Mhatre, secretary
of the Mumbai division of the state board of education.
Mhatre has sent a preliminary report to the state board
of education headquarters in Pune. An official told TOI
that it was possible that the board paper setter was a
teacher from the college. “The board asks three
persons to set an HSC exam paper and uses one of them.
This is not a foolproof method and the board should have
a fourth paper, which will have a combination of questions
from the three papers,” said the official. |
