Don’t copy, secret eyes are watching
6.51L To Sit For II PU Exams
Special Squad Put In Place
Bangalore: Students, beware! Trying copying tricks could
prove costly this exam season. Apart from the regular
squads on duty, a special one recruited from the directorate
will supervize over examination centres.
Members of this squad will be unknown to others, even
to other squad members. They will make surprise visits
to any centre in the state, throughout the exam dates.
Around eight such teams have already been formed. Each
will consist of four members, who are senior department
officials.
“We are not anticipating any problems. Formation
of the team is just an extra precaution,” said S
Shankar Narayan, director, Pre-University Examination
Board. Apart from this, there are sitting squads, flying
ones and a district squad that consists of principals
and senior teachers from schools.
EXAMS START ON MARCH 18
PU exams will begin from March 18. This year, 6,51,771
students will take the exam, almost 31,000 more from last
year. More than 10,000 teachers will be on duty across
907 centres. The first papers are Chemistry and Accountancy.
HELPLINE CLOSES
The last calls on exam helplines were received on Monday.
On an average, there were 85 calls each day, officials
noted. Some of the queries included tips to remember learnt
lessons, how to plan the remaining days and how to tackle
10 mark questions.
IT’S REVISION TIME
Students are busy making last-minute preparations. Many
of them say the experience of writing one board exam has
placed them in a better situation. “I am trying
to think positive and give it my best shot,” says
Adarsh Bharadwaj, II PUC student from MES college.
Many are tense as this is a “serious exam that will
determine their life”. “Results will influence
our decision for future studies. Moreover, there is not
much time before CET exam commences,” says Adwek
K, another student.
At this final phase, students are trying to go through
old question banks to get a sense of things to come.
