MHT-CET ’10 process begins on Mar 12
Application Forms Will Be Available At Junior Colleges, High Schools & DMER-Designated Offices
Pune: The process for the Maharashtra Health and Technology-Common Entrance Test (MHTCET 2010), which is the combined entrance examination for admissions to first-year engineering, pharmacy and health sciences degree courses in the state, will begin with the distribution of application forms from March 12.
The forms will be available at the concerned junior college or high school from where the aspiring candidate has appeared for his MHT-CET qualifying exam, that is Class XII exam.
Similarly, forms will also be available at the office of the divisional authorities designated by the Director of Medical Education and Research (DMER), who is the competent authority for the MHT-CET.
The test, which annually draws over 2.45 lakh higher secondary certificate (HSC, Class XII) pass students from across Maharashtra and outside states, is scheduled for May 6. “There is no significant alteration in the scheme of the combined entrance exam from what it was last year. Particularly on matters relating to the eligibility criteria,” DMER Wasudev Tayade told TOI on Monday.
An elaborate notification relating to the admission process as well as the information brochures for the health sciences, engineering and pharmacy courses have been posted on the official websites — www.dmer.org and www.dte.org.in. The last named is the website of the director of technical education.
Candidates who have appeared or have passed their HSC or equivalent exam from outside Maharashtra, will have to collect their application form and information brochures from any of the divisional authority offices by drawing a demand draft in favour of ‘Competent Authority, MH-CET, Mumbai’, payable at Mumbai on any scheduled commercial bank.
In Pune, the dean of the B J Medical College (BJMC) is the designated divisional authority (DA), while the Gangadhar Shastri Gune Ayurvedic Mahavidyalaya at Vishrambaug in Ahmednagar; the SCM Aryangla Ayurvedic College, ITI road, Gendamal in Satara; and the Dr Vaishampayan memorial medical college near district court in Solapur, are the notified colleges under the DA’s jurisdiction.
The deans of Grant medical college, Mumbai; Government medical college, Miraj in Sangli; SBH Government medical college, Dhule; Government medical college, Aurangabad; Shankarrao Chavan government medical college, Nanded; Government medical college, Nagpur and Government medical college, Akola, are the other divisional authorities.
The non-refundable cost of the application form, along with the three information brochures of the ‘MHT-CET 2010’ and the examination fee is Rs 700 each for the open category and for candidates from outside Maharashtra and Rs 500 each for reserve category candidates from Maharashtra only.
