51,514 students appear for SSC exam on day 1
Pune: The day one of secondary school certificate (SSC)
examination went off smoothly on Thursday.
As many as 2.55 lakh students from Pune division, which
includes Pune, Ahmednagar and Solapur, will appear for
the exam from 460 centres located at 3,035 schools across
the division. On Thursday, the first language papers of
Marathi, Hindi and other regional languages were held.
Number of students appearing for the exam from Pune city
are 51,514; Pimpri-Chinchwad 18,762 and Pune rural 53,945.
The examination was held under tight police security and
the board has also appointed flying squads to keep a check
on the proceedings. Arundhati Sathe, a student, said,
“I found the paper quite simple. The questions were
not beyond expectations and I completed it within stipulated
time.”
The superintendent attending calls at the helpline established
by the board informed that they did not receive many calls
from students. “Just a few enquiries on use of calculators
were made by a couple of callers. Otherwise, there were
no major complaints or queries from students.” |
