More scope for medical aspirants
5 NEW COLLEGES APPROVED
Bangalore: This year, students will have more medical
seats to choose from. The Medical Council of India (MCI)
has approved another five medical colleges in the state
and has given a green card for increase in intake in another
one. The list of colleges include Bidar Institute of Medical
Sciences, Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences, Mandya
Institute of Medical Sciences and Shimoga Institute of
Medical Sciences. Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences,
Hubli, got a go ahead to increase its seats from 100 to
150. In short, there would be around 600 more seats this
year. All colleges from Karnataka have been considered
in the re-inspection of MCI. Their assessments were carried
out in June. These seats would be added in the second
round of counselling.
