ICSE: class X exam not optional
Bangalore: As the country debates the CBSE’s move of making class 10 board examination optional, ICSE schools on Tuesday maintained that there was no question of making class X exam an option in ICSE schools.
Speaking to reporters at the 88th annual conference of association of heads of Anglo-Indian schools here, Gerry Arathoon, acting CEO of the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), said: “We are not considering that option at all. We believe that it is necessary for a child to get exposed to a Board exam. It is this exam where the child puts his heart and soul into. If it is made optional, the seriousness comes down. The X exam will help him prepare for the XII boards. I am sure the parents agree with me.”
