Sale of forms for 18,000 seats begins at IP varsity
New Delhi: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU)
announced its admission schedule for over 18,000 seats
for the 2010-2011 academic sessions on Tuesday. The sale
of forms will start from Wednesday.
Vice-chancellor , GGSIPU, D K Bandyopadhyay said: The
admission brochures-cum-application forms will be on sale
from February 17. The university has five brochures this
year for admissions to its various undergraduate and postgraduate
academic programmes. These are Admission Brochure I (Professional
Programmes); Admission Brochure II (Engineering &
BArch Programmes); Admission Brochure III (MBBS Programme),
Admission Brochure IV (PG Medical Programmes ) and Admission
Brochure V (Superspeciality Medical Course).
Admissions to the 70-odd academic programmes will be made
through 35 Common Entrance Test (CET) this year for seats
across 10 schools of the university and 101-odd affiliated
institutes.
Meanwhile, the V-C also informed that the university would
resume the new academic year from its permanent campus
at Dwarka. Apart from media studies and architecture,
the university would shift all its operations to the new
campus by the start of the 2010-2011 academic year.
GGSIPU is planning to conduct the CETs for four of its
most sought-after courses MBA, MBBS, BTech and MCA at
10 cities across India, including Delhi, Bangalore, Chandigarh,
Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Bhopal, Noida, Jalandhar and
Nagpur. For the remaining courses, the entrance exams
will be held only in Delhi. The CETs of MBBS and PG Medical
courses will be of three hours duration while the CETs
of all other courses will be of two-and-a-half hours duration.
The application form can be obtained from 55 designated
branches of Punjab & Sindh Bank across the country.
Bandyopadhyay said: The university is providing the facility
of online-submission of application form for CET-2010
. The application form, along with the CET fee, can be
submitted at http:// ipu.admissionhelp .com.
The last date for submission of filled-in applications
for most of the programmes is April 21, 2010. For the
super-speciality medical courses and PG medical degree/diploma
programmes the last dates are June 8, 2010 and March 26,
2010 respectively.
