Fergusson shows the way,more colleges to follow
ONLINE ADMISSIONS
Pune: Fergusson College is the only one in the city to
online with its junior college admission process.The facility
which was introduced last year has ensured speedy admission,and
done away with long queues in the college.
Principal Ravindrasingh Pardeshi said,Online admission
is the way ahead.It saves time and human errors are avoided.Also,students
do not have to queue up in the college for the process,
Fergusson College has junior college seats for arts and
science faculties.A student can visit the website and
click on the online admissions link where the applications
forms are available.
Students can fill them up,take a print out and submit
it at the college.More colleges are in the process of
going Fergussons way.The Brihan Maharashtra College of
Commerce would have introduced the system this year,but
for some technical glitches.
Principal Shrikant Joshi said,We have the system in place,but
there is some delay.Nevertheless,the online process will
be in place next year and students can fill the forms
by visiting the web address given by the college to speed
up the process. Besides,BMCC,Modern College toll may take
to the system next year.
Jagdish Chinchore,centralised admission process (CAP)
executive committee member,said,More colleges will adopt
the system.Just like the centralised process is online
in Mumbai,Pune colleges will also have it soon.
