Medical college for IIT-Kharagpur soon
Kolkata: IIT Kharagpur is going ahead with its medical
college project in spite of reports that an expert panel,set
up by Union health ministry to look into the feasilbility
of medical courses at IITs,has argued against the project.
If the plan was scrapped,we would have been informed by
the ministry.Since there is no such intimation yet,there
is every reason to think that the plan stands and we are
working accordingly.We have already sent our plan to the
HRD ministry, said IIT Kharagpur deputy director A K Majumdar.The
institute will start construction of the medical college
building this year.It is expected to run both undergraduate
and post graduate medical courses.
