Introduction
St. Joseph’s College is a college of 126 years imparting
graduate, post-graduation and research education. One
of the oldest colleges of the state, we are ever new.
While we take pride in our traditions, we are never complacent.
We keep on searching, renewing and expanding, attempting
to be ever relevant to the changing situations of the
times.
The college is accredited by the National Assessment and
Accreditation Council. In 2004, the college was declared
as a college of potential excellence by the University
Grants Commission, New Delhi, along with 47 other colleges
in the country. After examining the academic level of
the college, St. Joseph’s was declared as an
autonomous college by the Karnataka Government in 2005
on the recommendation of the University Grants Commission,
New Delhi. |
Courses
offered :
Bachelor
of Computer Application (BCA) :
Eligibility
: PUC certificates issued by the Board of Pre-University
Education, Govt. of Karnataka or equivalent
from other authorized Boards such as CBSE / ISE recognised
by the Bangalore University.
All those who have passed PUC with an
overall minimum percentage of 50, are eligible to apply
for the Course.
Admission
Process :
The
application form is in PDF format and contains two pages,
which should be printed on two separate A4 size
sheets.
The
application form must be duly filled in the applicant's
handwriting. Please read the prospectus of the college
given under "downloads category" of this webpage
A
demand draft for Rs. 300/- drawn in favour of "Principal,
St. Joseph's College, Bangalore 560 027" must accompany
the completed application form.(Demand Draft is required
only if you are downloading the form,
else you can get the form for Rs.250/- at our college
office).
Your
Demand Draft number will be your application number. Please
make a note of this number before you send
your application form.
The
completed application forms have to be returned to the
college office as soon as the Pre-University course
(PUC) results of Karnataka are announced. Since the official
marks card will not be available at the time
of submission, applicants could fill up the marks of the
PUC from the internet or from the result sheet available
at their respective colleges.
The
first list will be announced withing three days after
the announcement of the PUC results. Only the application
numbers of the selected candidates will be displayed on
the college notice board.
Once
the final interview is over, candidates have to pay their
fees within 24 hours. The fee structure will be announced
on the Notice Board at the time of admission.
Recommendations
will disqualify the candidates of getting admission to
the college. Applicants are hereby informed
not to get any recommendation.
The
college does not accept capitation or donations for admissions.
You are requested to bring to the notice of
the Principal / Vice-Principal / Rector any requests for
donation.
Students
who have scored high marks and appeared for Common Entrance
test (CET) and are not interested in
pursuing professional courses could inform the college
of their desire. College will admit such students.
Those
who have not made up their mind to join B.Sc or Professional
colleges could approach the college soon
after the CET results. College will admit such students
later depending on the availability of seats.

How
to Apply :
The application form should be carefully filled up and
registered personally at the College Office. Registration
by post is permitted. The last date of registration will
be notified on the College Notice Board. The first list
will be announced after 3 days of the PUC results. The
Application should be made with the following enclosures:
Certified
or photocopy of the PUC marks card.
Xerox copy of caste certificate in Form 1 for SC / ST
students issued by Tashildar or Social Welfare Officer.
OBCs too should submit their certificates.
For applicants from ISE and CBSE etc., copy of the Eligibility
Certificate from the PUC Board, Karnataka.
Placements :
Over 45 companies visited the campus in 2008. All students
with a first class are normally recruited. The pay scale
offered by various companies ranged from 1.8 lakhs-6.5
lakhs per annum.
